Chief of Thunder Bay Police Service J. P. Levesque announced Wednesday the Thunder Bay Police have adopted a new electronic process for assisting in the completion of police record checks.

The addition to the current process means our citizens will now have the option of completing the whole application process on-line from the comfort of their own home.

They will not have to visit police headquarters to start the process and may never have to attend the police station at all - unless the application requires something further, like fingerprints to confirm identity to a record.

For the next three months our citizens will continue to have the option of making an in-person application to Thunder Bay Police Headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street during the hours Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
